$in query against array of ObjectId() won't return results

I have some relationship mapping in my data model and for some reason feathers won't return any matches when running $in queries against an array of ObjectId()

I'm assuming this is happening after the data is returned from mongo since that query should work in mongo.

any ideas?

doing a little more digging... when logging the query it seems to work when the id is a string on server, but doesn't work when the id is new ObjectID('64e40e45c69091b3928fb08c')

Might be an issue with data-loader sorting

Issue was i'm using a $select and i you don't include the data loader key in the request it breaks data loader sorting.
